We are a higher education preparatory school with free on-campus cram schools, that offers top-class instruction to help students prepare for higher education, together with advice on living in Japan.

Learning environment

Preparatory instruction

  • Okayama is only three-and-a-half hours by Shinkansen to Tokyo, and only 40 minutes to Osaka. You can go take an entrance exam and return to Okayama the same day, allowing you to take exams at several schools in other prefectures. Take as many entrance exams as you like—the choice is yours.

  • Many students choose to attend our optional supplementary classes. Launched in 2007, these classes cover liberal arts subjects, math, physics, biology, and chemistry. Some of our students have attended these classes and then have gone on to earn top scores even in subjects other than Japanese language.

  • During your first year you will focus on learning Japanese. From your second year, you will be put into a class based on your plans after graduating OBC, whether you plan to advance to graduate school, university, or vocational school. Once you have been admitted to OBC, you will have several individual interviews with your advisor, decide what you will do after graduating from OBC before the summer of your second year, and then begin taking entrance exams in autumn. You can also advance to higher education during your first year, if you can pass your entrance exam

  • Our preparatory classrooms provide information on universities and vocational schools, application requirements, advancement reports, and past admission examination questions, allowing you to continue to research how best to advance to higher education. These classrooms can be used for a range of purposes, such as browsing school webpages or borrowing Japanese language materials.

  • We also offer vocational courses to prepare students to get jobs at companies that are popular among international students, providing an option for internal advancement. Each school is nearby, allowing you to start studying a vocation for the future without changing your environment.
